Welcome!

Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 511's web site.  Boy Scout Troop 511 in Austin TX is sponsored by St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, and was founded in 1972. It is one of the larger troops in Central Texas and during its existence has produced more than 125 Eagle Scouts. Feel free to look around our site and by all means shoot us an email to learn more about the exciting world of Scouting at Troop 511.

If you're interested in our troop, we encourage you to come visit us at one of our meetings.  We meet every Tuesday at 7:00 in Huffman Hall on the St. Matthews campus.  We love to have guests any time.  Some meetings are more interesting for visitors to come to, so feel free to send us email if you're wondering which night would be best for you to come and check out out Troop 511.

Funeral service

Posted on Jan 16 2016 - 12:24pm

Hello, after the Eagle court of Honor, there is going to be a funeral service for Mr. Hitt, who asked that our troop do the flag ceremony. I need some more people to help out with that, so please send me an email (david@easterj.com) if you can go.

Shrove Tuesday - February 9th 5pm to 8pm

Posted on Jan 14 2016 - 10:19am

The Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner is an opportunity to give back to St. Matthews for all they give to Scouts.  At Shrove Tuesday, we help the church serve dinner to the parishioners.  You will earn service hours and a pancake dinner for helping out.  The event is divided into two shifts:  early shift (5:00pm - 6:40pm) and late shift (6:20pm - 8:00pm).  There is an overlap to ensure coverage at the bussiest time.  Please sign up on the troop calendar for for one or the other.  Please check the attendee list and sign up for the shift with the fewest scouts.

Thank you,
